In 2021, China's flower import and export trade volume reached 700 million US dollars

Recently, the China Flower Association released the "2021 national flower import and export data analysis report". The report shows that in 2021, the import and export trade volume of flowers and plants in China exceeded the $700million mark for the first time, with a year-on-year increase of 12.66%.
The report is formed by sorting out and analyzing the import and export data of flowers and plants in China in 2021 provided by the General Administration of Customs according to seven categories: seed bulbs, potted flowers (landscapes), courtyard plants, seedlings, fresh cut flowers, fresh cut branches (leaves), dry cut flowers, moss lichens, etc.
From the analysis of flower imports, the total flower imports in 2021 were $235.8537 million, an increase of $505,300 year-on-year. The top three categories in terms of import volume are bulbs, fresh cut flowers, potted flowers (landscapes) and courtyard plants, accounting for 86.73%. The three categories of seed bulbs, fresh cut flowers and fresh cut branches (leaves) increased significantly, and the import of seed bulbs increased by 24.67% after declining for three consecutive years; Fresh cut flower imports increased by 30.37% after declining for two consecutive years; The import of fresh cut branches (leaves) increased by 50.16%, maintaining growth for five consecutive years, especially in 2020 and 2021. The import volume of potted flowers (landscapes) and courtyard plants decreased by 54.09% year-on-year, the largest decline in five years; The import of seedlings decreased by US $2.9673 million, or 16.77%, for four consecutive years.
